Welcome to Christ the King School! We are both honored and pleased that you are considering our school for your child’s education. At Christ the King School we strive to build strong moral character in an academically challenging, faith filled community. All of our teachers are chosen for their competency and dedication. Their main concern is the spiritual, mental, and emotional development of each child committed to their care.
Nestled in the heart of Chevy Chase, Christ the King School has a welcoming neighborhood feel, while benefiting from extensive renovations, and twenty-first century updating in the past decade. Christ the King remains a traditional Catholic School with a strong commitment to total faith formation, academic excellence, and character development. Admissions Information
Admission to Christ the King School or participation in school programs is not denied to students on the basis of race, color, ethnic or national origin. Admission will not be denied because of any handicapping condition unless it is clear that the staff, due to inadequate professional training, and/or the school’s program will not be able to meet the student’s needs.
Admission to Christ the King School will be determined by the principal after consideration of the following:
Every effort will be made to admit students that have a reasonable chance to perform as successful students at Christ the King School.
Admission of new students to Christ the King School is determined by the following factors in order of priority:
Catholic Parishioner Status
According to Catholic thought and tradition, it is through baptism that one is incorporated into the Roman Catholic Church. Therefore, it is expected that a parishioner of the Cathedral of Christ the King should meet the following:
Developmental readiness assessment will be required for all kindergarten students.
Non-Catholic applicants must be willing to participate in religion classes and attend liturgy, since this is an integral part of the life of Christ the King School.
In all cases the administration reserves the right to make the final decisions on admissions, consistent with the above policy.
